Egyptian Experience at the Navan Centre.

6th Feb 2019

What a day P4 and 5 had at the Navan Centre in Armagh.  We furthered our knowledge on the ancient Egyptians by taking part in several Egyptian based workshops.   We started off by looking at Egyptian gods and learning a little more about hieroglyphics. We then carried out a mock mummification on Myles.  We removed his organs and placed them in canopic jars, before stuffing him with saw dust and hay and wrapping him up just like a mummy.

Our next task was to make an Egyptian crown, just like a Pharaoh in Egypt would have worn.

We finished by meeting an Egyptian farmer and a slave who told us all about their daily lives and the types of jobs they did.

I have to say I was so proud of our boys and girls.  They were able to answer all questions asked and behaviour was excellent.  What a super day!
