As you are probably aware, this week is Mental Health Awareness Week and with disruption in everyone’s lives due to coronavirus (COVID-19) it’s important that we all pay attention to our own mental health and well-being and the mental health of our children and young people. This weekend, is a bank holiday weekend and school is officially closed on Monday 25th. Enjoy the break and try to take some of the steps in the attached poster to look after your own health and well being.
This has also been a key priority for us in school this year and you may remember all the pupils were involved in developing positive mindsets as part of our Art of Brilliance project. As a by product of this project the School Council and Eco Council have been actively pursuing ways to improve our pupils' health and well-being and I am delighted to confirm the diggers will be moving in next week to start installing our new play area. We are also delighted that the Recobox, funded through an Awards for All grant, will also arrive next week.
Exciting times at Dromore Road but tinged with sadness as we're not going to be together to share in the excitement. We just have to stay positive and look forward to enjoying our new facilities when we can safely return to school.
