Orienteering.
Primary 5 and 6 travelled to the Palace Stables in Armagh. We learned how to read maps and use the key and scale on the map to work out positions and follow a route. We played some games to practice these skills, then took part in an orienteering challenge to see which group could navigate a course, collect all the control punch symbols and get back to base in the quickest time. Everyone put in 100% effort and it was so nice to see team mates encouraging each other and working together. Alan and Sylvia were impressed by how quick we managed to complete the quite tricky course and commented on how well behaved we were. As a treat we visited the play park to use up any left over energy before heading back to school.
