Our busy week in P1/2 continued today as we welcomed Nigel and Diarmuid from the Warrenpoint Fire and Rescue Service. We found out what equipment they carry in their engine and what they use it for. Everyone was allowed to sit in the back of the engine as one lucky boy drove us to a fire in our playground! Then, with the help of Nigel we put out the fire using the hose, while trying to hit Diarmuid!! We had great fun! I think there will be lots of girls and boys, just like Nigel, who will progress from Dromore Road Primary School into the Fire Service later in life. Thanks to the two men who certainly gave us a day to remember!
