What a fantastic day we had at Hillsborough Castle. We began by walking the 12 days of Christmas trail where we used our map skills to locate the themed Christmas displays in the beautiful grounds of the Castle. We then went inside the Castle where we stepped back in time to the Victorian era. The head housekeeper told us of all the preparations and decorating she had to do in order to get the castle ready for Christmas. We learned about some Victorian Christmas traditions and played games which Victorian children would have played. We finished off by meeting Santa who gave us each a sugar mouse to take home as a treat for being so well behaved. He confirmed that we are all currently on his nice list. 🎅😁🎄
